Hi Bob, You should see about making one of those drop tanks into a camera. That way if you ever need to take pic’s you just add on your drop tank and turn it on. No Velcro! I’ve seen camera’s on Hobby Kings site that were unmounted parts.I’m not sure the quality of the camera’s though. I’m sure you could figure something out. It couldn’t be that difficult.
Bob – I use my 50 year old Shop Smith in the lathe configuration for turning tip tanks, rocket pods, & drop tanks out of foam. I glue two pieces of foam on a 1/4 to 3/8 dia dowel rod, then chuck the dowel rod in the Shop Smith. I turn the foam to shape, then glass the foam and chuck it back in for sanding.
You might find an old Shop Smith to use for you foam lathe work.
