will the chute come out by itself or is it going to need a pop up, the door looks like it will block the wind from grabing the chute?

What rye said. How you going to get the chute out of the box? Since it is on the top of the airplane, you won’t have gravity to help you get it out. Maybe accordion-fold the canopy and attach the apex to the inside of the door with a small velcro tab so that when the door opens all the way it also pulls the top of the chute up with it, exposing a big batch of fabric so the slip stream can pull it the rest of the way out? Full sized airplanes have spring-loaded pilot chutes that pop out first and then pull the drag chute out. If you have to go that route, then you’re going to have to come up with a way to handle the energy stored in the compressed spring.
