Its good to see the wings being made looking forward to seeing you and Bob fit these and get an apreciation for the B1’s full size when there on hopefully Bob will be fit enough to have finished the stabs and rudder and mounted them by then.

  2. REUBEN says:

    Hi Butch,
What thickness is the balsa? Are these long balsa sheets you are using or standard lengths?
Some people use Herex foam sandwich process and they seal it with 0.6oz fiberglass cloth. Wouldn’t this process be a lighter system than balsa given that balsa absorbs a lot of the epoxy?

    Thanks again.

    Reuben

  3. Randy says:

Could you show us a video of you putting the two halves together?

  4. Reuben, I understand your question. But this is not your average RC Model. These wings will be carring about 250#’s ! If we stress it to 10 G’s then you are looking at 2500#’s. I’m not looking for LIGHT ! Butch Sickels

  5. Roach says:

10G’S?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WHAT IS THIS A MODEL OR A FREAKIN DRONE!?!?!? exactly how fast do you think this thing will go. And can I fly it if everything goes well?

Great to see ya makin videos Butch! Happy Easter. I’m a big dog man myself. I like yours more than Bobs ankle biters. LOL
Can you show us the bleeder material and where do you get your supplies? Also wanted to ask about the airline/bag connection. Love to see what that looks like and how it hooks to the bag. Did you get the spar issue fixed with fit up? Hope to see the spar if she’s done.
