I fell in love with your hydraulic system and purchased the Eurokit Hydraulic kit. I attaempted to drill and tap the robart cyclinders (935 style outer diameter about 5/8″)I have on my ME-262 and could not make them seal as the Festo fitting takes a 5mmX0.8 tap which is about 1/4″. I messed up my first try and then ordered all new cylinders from Robart and then had them machined. On the closed end of the cylinder, where the outer pin goes through the mounting flange trunions, when you drill and tap you penatrate the wall of the outer pin hole and you cannot make the cylinder hold air or hydraulic fluid.
I did make several attempts to make the system work even with leaks and the pump does not have enough power to swing large 5-1/2″ tires. I adjusted the controller to the max and it still will not do the job and also got very warm. Maybe the problems I encountered is because of the leaks.
The reason for this message is to advise you and your fans that if you are thinking hydraulic do not attempt to convert Robarts. Either make your own retracts with larger cylinders or buy the retracts already built from Eurokit with the Festo fittings already installed on the cylinders.
No doubt the Eurokit system will work great on your bomber doors but not sure how well it will work on large landing gear.
Cant wait to see your system on the B-1 operate. Also bleeding the system is a pain.
Thanks for your time.
